    Default Operation Staked

I've been staked by someone to run a series of 10x5.50/45 and 10x4.40/180's, so I'm going to log my progress here so they can see how I'm running. Basically it'll be a rail thread.

Tournament 1. 2 hands of note.

    1. This is early on. Preflop raise size OK? River bet OK, or should I c/c a river bet?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero (t1785)
    BB (t1050)
    UTG (t1905)
    UTG+1 (t1690)
    MP1 (t1625)
    MP2 (t2820)
    CO (t705)
    Button (t1920)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, K.
    1 fold, UTG+1 calls t50, MP1 calls t50, MP2 calls t50, 1 fold, Button calls t50, Hero raises to t300, BB calls t250, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls t250, MP2 calls t250, Button folds.

    Flop: (t1300) 9, J, 9 (4 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks.

    Turn: (t1300) J (4 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks.

    River: (t1300) 8 (4 players)
Hero bets t500, BB folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds.

    Final Pot: t1300

    Hand 2.

Ok, what do I do here preflop? 3xbb raise? What if they shove over, its gunna be about 900 more and there will be 2000 in the pot. I hate spots like this, marginal. I'm thinking folding on the button may be OK here, or do I definitely have to raise?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB (t1430)

    UTG+1 (t6450)
    MP1 (t1710)
    MP2 (t1683)
    CO (t2635)
    Hero (t2485)
    SB (t1125)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, 6.
    5 folds, Hero??

FWIW if you don't cash once you don't neccesarily suck. I just thought I'd post that in case you feel pressured by your staker 20 Games is a waaayyyy small sample size obv.

    1) Preflop I would probs shove, there are 275 chips in the middle when it gets to you and that would make a nice addition to your stack. You don't mind a flip here since there's so much dead money and could easy be called by hands you dominate.

As played, I like the river bet because any J or 9 is going to have to raise and I can't see a weaker hand raising, and you don't want to have to call a psb with a-high.

    2) 10BBs effective stacks, you have an A on the button just shove it.

    Good luck and merry Xmas!

Early in tournament 3, just push the turn? I was planning a C/R. EZ river call?

Tournament 1, Hand 1 - I'd be okay with a bigger raise or even a push preflop. As played, river is meh. Betting isn't bad I don't think.

Tournament 1, Hand 2 - If you're going to play this hand (which you should) then shove I think. Both the SB and BB have under 10bb or whatever. At least I think that's what you're supposed to do from the 3 days I learned about SNGs.

Tournament 3, Hand 1 - I'm good with shoving the flop here. As played you have to call the river.

    Anybody like, not like this?

I figure he doesn't love his hand too much, probably has QQ/JJ weak A or KQ. I figure I can get most of that range to fold. I was thinking about checking behind on the turn and river. I figured the tripple barrel would fold most his check calling range, unless he had AA/KK

    Jack-high straight flush motherfucker
I don't like it, rivercard could not have improved your hand. Unless you bet flop with 230.

Hence, you either flopped a set of fives or you got nada. With a weak K I'm calling, possibly even with QQ.

It just smells bluff from beginning to end, I don;t know how else to explain it

That said, it might work against a very weak opponent

I don't really like it as well mainly do to preflop action. I think he has an ace here a lot and won't fold river more than 50%

    It's a $5.50, don't get fancy vs. a player who wont fold his A2.
