1) Someone told me that in a casino you cannot truthfully say what your hand is. They say lying is allowed but not the truth. Is this true?

I can't believe it as even the truth can only be taken with a pinch of salt by the competition. Also, people like Jamie Gold are always truthfully disclosing their hands. And just last week, on the GUKPT, 2 guys were being rather candid about their holdings and weren't penalised.


2) If an opponent raises 20,000 and you say "raise, 50,000" have you raised to 50k or raised on top of the bet of 10k to make it 70k?


3) What merit/strategy is in play when villains check in the dark?
