Default Benefits of a well-rounded poker education

I can't decide if I should play limit or NL. I think low limit is easier to learn and have probably read more about it than NL, but I also entered a NL freeroll and did pretty well (no money, but I was definitely surprised how far I got). Do you guys think it is a bad idea to try and learn both when you are a beginner, or does it even matter?
    thanks

pick one, and stick with it for a month. then switch, and try the other for a month. then from then on, specialize on what you like better.

NL and limit are completely different monsters, and often use different strategies in the same situations. don't try them both at the same time as you'll get mixed up.

i play limit...and even when i was playing a full ring and a shorthanded ring at the same time i was getting all screwed up because even though both limit, longhanded vs shorthanded is also very different.
