Default NFD+GS becomes idiot straight OOP in limped pot, line check

UTG runs 40/11/1.5 over ~100 hands, don't know much else about him.

My image is pretty aggressive over maybe 40 hands at the table, don't remember having shown anything down in significant pots though.

    400NL, 6 players
    Button ($463.00)
    HalvSame ($644.90)
    BB ($144.76)
    UTG ($272.00)
    UTG+1 ($656.96)
    CO ($442.90)

Preflop: HalvSame is in the SB with A 4
UTG calls 4.00, 3 folds, HalvSame calls 2.00, BB checks.

    Flop (12.00) 5 3 9
HalvSame bets 12.00, 1 fold, UTG calls 12.00.

    Turn (36.00) 2
HalvSame bets 36.00, UTG calls 36.00.

    River (108.00) 6
HalvSame bets 66.00, UTG raises 220.00 (all-in), HalvSame calls 154.00

    Final Pot 548.00

Nah i disagree. I think you get a call from one pair here a lot but not a bet. Who knows if this guy will bluff missed draws too... i'm gonna say no, nor do i think that he has a missed draw here a lot.

And considering that this guy is a donk, that he probably doesn't put you a straight from the way you played it, and also that unless he had 78dd i doubt he'd call two pot sized bets with 78, you really just can't fold the river. 74 seems a like a bit of a stretch too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see AA, KK, or a set here.

Thanks people, I wasn't sure if I should lead the river because I wouldn't be sure of what the right move was if he shoved. I didn't consider that he isn't gonna shove very often, so it should definitely be a bet no matter how I respond to the shove. Is river bet size maybe a tad on the small side?

    Results in white:
He didn't shove, he called with the mighty J5o! Note taken.

Mass, IMO the results show why check/call is best... most villains aren't going to be resourceful enough to re-raise on the river like that with a bluff, but many will fire 2/3-full pot and we gain more value. I don't see a pair of 5s just calling here on the river if we bet it.
