When two thinking players play together for friendly stakes on a non-regular basis, who can make the most outragous bluff is a pretty big part of the meta-game.

My approach in these spots after being burned several times is to slow down a bit and find a place to get my money in good. Find good spots to go a bet deeper than I otherwise might. Also, bets and checks to induce bluffs work great as the other guy doesn't figure to be calling off his money second best.
