    Default Quick Question regarding BB

    Just a quickie,

Was playing a game down the pub. Blinds were 800/1600, SB posted and only had another 500, BB had 4k or so

Folded round to the SB who went all in for his 1300 total, which obviously couldnt match the BB, so the BB took 300 back from the pot.

I questioned this and said that the BB must always be played to its full amount, even if other players cant cover it and that its not the same as a raise/all-in/call type of situation. Am I correct?

SB only can double up, what ever is left over goes back to the BB.

This is correct. Don't feel bad. One time, I had a guy try to eliminate me because I didn't have enough to meet the BB, and I still had 4 players left until the blind hit me. He tried to shove my chips in the pot for the winner of the next hand. 7 guys there didn't dispute. I had to offer to pay another buy-in if I was wrong. I played it out, and still bubbled.
