Default Future of online poker profitability

Do you guys think there will be money to be made playing online poker in the next 10-25 years? Will there be a decline? Will you be able to find 30/60 games with any regularity?

I am just wondering if anyone has any opinions on this subject. The reason I am asking is in the future, will there be money to be made by pro poker players...

    lol, yeah

I'm just saying that gambling is huge in a lot of asian countries but it's illegal in countries such as china (I don't know about other countries but there are probably more). I know ESPN now broadcasts in china, so the demand for it is definitely getting bigger. Once the poker sites find a way to reach out to the the asian market I think we'll see another online poker boom.

I've seen quite a few Asian players in a small poker room called TigerGaming.com. It's a site I think I found here on FTR that supposedly has lots of Canadians lined up to give you their money.

To the OP-- I think online poker will be going strong for years to come, but I think the main game will change from Hold'em to something else within the next five years. I think the next big game will be Omaha.

where there is poker, there will be professionals...ALWAYS.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

I don't see there being another boom unless a poker room brings out something very innovative but I can see a steady flow of players for at least the next 10 or 20 years.

Probably a lot of casinos will start spreading more games too and we'll see a boom in live play.

what about holdem blackjack? I've seen that on the Crypto network and it looks quite interesting.

What facts do you base this "steady flow" prediction on? Poker used to be HUGE in the 50's and 60's, and then more or less went dead for a while.

If they can ever merge western and eastern online markets, it will be wild.

Nobody here can seriously predict what will happen in 10-25 years.
If you asked poker players in the early 90's how will the ame look today I am sure most of them will be totally off the mark.

I think that one thing we can expect to have in the future is a version of online poker that is closer to a live game (i.e cameras and audio conversations)
