Default What would you do on this one?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG+1 ($0.99)
    MP1 ($2.76)
    MP2 ($11.86)
    CO ($0.92)
    Button ($0.86)
    Hero ($4.86)
    BB ($5)
    UTG ($2.98)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J, J.
    2 folds, MP1 calls $0.02, MP2 calls $0.02, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.08, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.06, MP2 calls $0.06.

    Flop: ($0.26) 4, 7, 2 (3 players)
    Hero bets $0.16, MP1 calls $0.16, MP2 calls $0.16.

    Turn: ($0.74) 7 (3 players)
    Hero bets $0.5, MP1 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50.

    River: ($2.24) 9 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets $1.18, MP2 folds, Hero calls $1.18.

    Final Pot: $4.60

Again my main concern was what kept him in the hand after some pretty strong messages in earlier betting. At first I thought flush draw, then maybe that he hit trip 7s. Been on this table for a long time and have a very tight table image (cards werent coming so I wasnt playing). No real read on the guy except he said he laid down pocket aces in the previous hand to a big raise (to be honest I was working at the same time so not concentrating much, just playing by the numbers).

I bet the flop harder, more like $0.20, but other than that I play it the same. I c/c the river also-- give the busted FD a chance to bluff at this and let 88-TT think they should value bet. We may be beat by a FH or trips, but usually we're beating an overpair. What'd he have, like As7s?

Scytherism: shows [Ts 8c] (a pair of Sevens)
BjsAust: shows [Js Jd] (two pair, Jacks and Sevens)
    BjsAust collected $4.40 from pot

Beats me why he was still coming. Even if he thought I was bluffing he didnt have a kicker.

Again, raise more preflop, try to get it heads up. Secondly, bet more on the flop, like .20 or so. I don't bet any other streets on this board unless a J comes.

dont try to understand your opponents play at these stakes, just make sure you call bets where you think your winning the pot often enough.
I think youre line here is fine. If he'd pushed the river and you'd called id have been more skeptical.

I'm basically considering my play atm practise, so even so its the pennies table, I treat it like serious money to avoid forming bad habits.

But yeah I've been chased and called to the river by air a LOT. The thing is as soon as I assume someone has air, thats when I lose my stack to a set .
