    Default Small-Ball Stabs

I'm really trying hard lately to pick up more pots on dry flops. What do you think, and do you have any good suggestions for this tactic?

    100NL - Full Ring

    Hero is BB ($100) with

    Pre-Flop
    MP1 calls $1
    Button calls $1
    SB calls .50
    Hero checks

    Flop (4 Players, Pot = $4)

    SB checks
    Hero bets $3

I like 2 better than 1, T+broadway isn't really a dry flop unless you know these guys only limp PPs.

    Agree with drmcboy.

One spot I really like to do it is on paired boards. Less likely they hit and everyone's scared of trips. If you get called or raised (which is rare in my experience) you can be pretty sure you're toast.

It's also a better play against 3 players than 4.

Plus you can rep trips nicely with an uncharacteristically small bet, say 1/3-1/2 pot, which increases the EV of the bluff.

also like hand 1 alot cause you have a large number of cards that can come on the turn that can really give you good draws. for a flush or a straight even if villian calls your bet.

regardless of what hand you take pots on, as long as they fold more then 50% of the time you are doing great, and if they do call, sometimes you will hit into a good drawing hand with the possibility of taking a large pot on the river.
