Hi,

This is about 25/50 NL game.

I usually play preflop and flop aggro and turn/river quite passive
if I meet resistance. I usually dont bluff much. This has been quite
good style for me but last two weeks I started experimenting with
more aggro style.

Basically I tried raising all pairs in any positions and almost any
hands at late position. I also forced myself play turn/river more
aggressively. Especially against players whose Win at showdown %
was low 40 or lower.

Observations:

I get more play with my premium hands. I also recorded my
personal best session winnings at sunday 245 dollars. Which
was quickly followed by couple of -50 sessions monday and this morning.

Variance is a LOT higher than in passive play. Tight/passives are
folding nicely at small pots but LAGs/Maniacs are putting
me in difficult situation raising with mid pairs which I sometimes
win and sometimes they win.

I must say that I think passive style (counterplay)
suits me better at 25NL I think. I am beginning to see benefits playing
aggro at 50NL or higher.

But I think its important to mix your playing styles especially if
there are lots of regulars in table.

I also found that is very difficult to play against your natural style.
I guess I am SLAP by nature and playing any other game is hard work.

Your thoughts?

T.
