    Default Action Jackson

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB ($43.75)
    UTG ($34.40)
    MP ($93.50)
    CO ($53.60)
    Button ($100.40)
    Hero ($99)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, K.
UTG calls $1, MP raises to $5, 2 folds, Hero calls $4.50, BB calls $4, UTG folds.

    Flop: ($16) A, 9, 4 (3 players)
Hero bets $12, BB calls $12, MP raises to $35, Hero raises to $94, BB calls $26.75 (All-In), MP folds.

    Final Pot: $183.75

This was literally my 2nd hand at the table, so no reads at all. Yes, I know, 9 times out of 10 I reraise PF, but I like to get a decent table read before I really start playing, and $5 by UTG seemed fairly credible.

    Thoughts?

Call the flop, and lead the turn for value into a side pot. You have conceivably the best hand with the only reasonable draw on the board. The point of this hand, is that you need to keep the value of the range you're ahead of around, and not isolate a hand you're possibly behind on a scary board. No one is going to draw you out on this board playing correctly, unless the turn pairs.

The only value in doing what you did is to chase away two pairs and sets to isolate a weak player. Problem is you have no idea how weak shorty is.

I really have to think about this some more. I'm certainly missing something in this equation.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
