Default Metrics for Movin' On Up to Next Betting Level?

Have tw0-tabled at $0.01/0.02 under very conservative play, seeing about one-quarter of the flops and winning most of the showdowns before and after the river. Elsewhere on this great site I read that it is recommended not to progress to the next higher SB/BB until playing 10,000 to 15,000 hands at the current level.

Another indicator might be the number of wins per one hundred hands, or the number of BB/100 hands that a player wins. Are there other metrics as well?

I know there is no hard and fast rule. But the knowledgeable players here might have a rule of thumb or a ballpark guess. I understand that any such guess probably relates to the dollar range one is playing at. And I promise to to cuss you out if your guess is not "spot on."

    Thanks for any replies.

underneath 25nl I wouldn't worry about anything except having proper BR for the level.

    Drinking your milkshake.
20 buyins is plenty for a tight player at this level. Move down again if you drop a few.

If you think you one of the better players (and you are actually winning) and you have $200 in poker money then move up to $10NL.

Dont worry too much about playing 10k hands first. Thats more to make sure you are a winning player at your stakes. Im sure if you are playing tight, aggressive non-tilty poker then you are a winning player so far .

Give it a try and dont be afraid to drop down if it all goes wrong.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?
