Default I need some new strategy

I'm at a crossroads with my poker strategy. I don't live anywhere near casinos, so basically I have to wait till I'm around them to play. I like live play better, but I do awful live. I have a good grasp, or at least I thought that I did, of strategy and fundamentals. I do my best to play a tight aggressive game. The most common games I have played in live tend to be either 3-6 or 4-8 limit. I don't have a huge bankroll, but It seemed like the the standard amount of chips were between 100-200. I bought in for about 150. I know the common thought is to buy in for 100 times the big blind. I didn't really want to spend that much, and I wanted some more live experience. Plus no one had more than 200 at the table. My point is that there were some decent players there and some awful ones. I played pretty conservatively I played hands that were good drawing hands, when I got them, cause I knew the inexperienced guys would pay me off. The overall theme I am getting at is that I didn't get good cards most of the two evenings I played. I was doing like a good boy should and was putting people on hands, but when a guy is playing a 2-10 offsuit out of position this is quite hard. I'm sticking with the game plan of beating the low stakes before the high ones, but how can you beat guys like this when the cards don't come. I would wait for my moments, but before long I was basically out of money, or had very little left. I'm not judging my experience from these two nights. I just thought that I was playing solid poker, but was still unsuccessful. I knew the guys at the table that I wanted to be in hands with. He would play every hand and any pair to the end. I just couldn't get the good cards to play big pots with. Am I wrong in my analysis of when there are idiots or maniacs at the table tight aggressive is better, cause loose play certainly prevailed at this weekend trip.

my advice would be to play a controlled loose game, play more cards but still be selective dont play 10-2 off cause youve seen some donks win a couple hands) ..suited connectors and PP's do well in these loose games because of high implied odds(lots of people calling preflop and paying u off most of the time postflop) ...also read Small Stakes Holdem by Ed Miller and Sklansky, follow their strategy for loose games and you'll be crushing these games in no time. ...

When you have calling stations who call every hand to the river you cant bluff, you need to play good starting hands, and those who have good drawing potentoal (mid-high SC, PP from position).
Calling stations usually wont read you, so even if you play super tight you will get paid when you hit

    Two more points:
    1. its poker, sometimes you will lose to bad players when you play good poker

    the guy needs some advice
are we gona bitch about the enter key or try to do what we are here to do.

from what i know also, doesnt 3/6 4/8 lhe in casinos play like a crapshoot?

In lhe games the fish are going to play any two cards they get dealt, afterall its only one more bet :P.

If everyone is playing everyhand open up your range to hands like KTs/QJ that play pretty well for tp hands but also are ok in a multiway pot.

lemonade was a popular drink and it still is
Those games in the casino are gonna play like .10/.20 games online. Also, it's going to be damn near impossible to make a killing in those games with B&M rake and/or jackpot drops being taken. Patience is key in live poker. You don't get dealt as many hands and if you get cold decked, it's pretty boring. If you are comfortable opening up your range, you can do so.

Just play better post flop and if you have position on the loose idiot, raise to isolate and value bet the shit out of him when you have the best hand.

And, uhh, use the enter key.

    Drinking your milkshake.
If you don't have it already, get hold of a copy of Small Stakes Holdem by Miller & Sklansky. The book was written with precisely this sort of loose game in mind.

    Default Thanks for the advice

I will take all of this in to account. I am in the process of ordering the SSH. It is just that I have picked up a couple of other books, that I was reading first. That will be the next book I read though. Sorry If I offended those of you, who are sooo damn good at punctuation and sentence structure.

    and flop sets.

So I was hanging out with this girl for 2-3 weeks but she just moved back to school, which is only a couple hours away. I sent her a "hey how's it going e-mail" and her reply looked like the OP. It makes me want to never e-mail her again. I'm confused.
