    Default realistic goal?

Hello, I started playing online poker about two months ago, taking advantage of Royal Vegas Poker's $10 no deposit bonus. Anyway I turned that $10 into about $75 but dropped back to $45 playing poorly. After that, I took a break from online poker for about three weeks but recently came back to hit. In the last few days I have had a sick run of cards and am now at $90.

My goal is to have $400 at the end of summer to play the 0.10/0.20 NL table at Royal Vegas. I have played mostly sit n go tournaments, but I prefer Ring and MTT's. Over the summer, when I have much more time, I plan on improving my MTT play. My real question is whether achieving $400 at the end of summer is a realistic goal.

What stakes are you playing right now, $0.05/0.10, or lower? This goal is very achievable as long as you stay within your bankroll and put in the time. I think you should eb able to reach that goal within a month depending on the time you put in, but by the end of the summer is definitely realistic if you just stick with it.

Thanks for the reply. I am currently playing a variety of games right now, the most recent being $5 PL. I would play no limit but the lowest stakes the have 0.05/0.10 and i don't want to move up to $10NL with only $90. I have also been playing $2.50 sit n go's, as well as the ocassional $1 MTT. However, after diplomas are over, and I have more time I am going to play MTT's a lot more.

Well thats good you are following BR management already. Id probably stick with the $2.50 SNGs as those should be a good way to quickly build up your roll, then move to .05/.1 when you hit $200, the occassional MTT is nice for variety and if you hit a big score can really be a boost to your BR. If you can, Id try to move your BR to a site like Pokerstars or Partypoker where the have $0.02/0.05 nl games.

I'm not sure if this is an offer you have access too, but I found a site that offered a free $75 to people who did not have an account at Party Poker. By the end of the 45 day beginner period I was able to turn it into $400 by playing only at $5NL tables. (I've since moved to Paradise).

I have absolutely no experience with MTT/SNG, so I'll defer to those who do, but it is realistic if you're patient and don't tilt after a few losing sessions.

    Good Luck.

Poker Source Online gives you a free $75 to play at Party. Unfortunately I lost that $75 when I first started to play online poker.
