Check up at 100k: w/r question
Well, I've been playing part-time (mostly weekends) since January, and I recently hit 100k hands, playing mainly Party, Crypto and Pacific and some others at 50NL and 100NL.
I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed with my w/r at this time, sitting just over 5 bb/100. Back in January, I was scorching at over 9 bb/100 and I thought I would be able to sustain that over the year.
Well, I can understand that when everyone gets done with breaks and back into the swing of studies and work, many fish disappear. But, last month was pretty weak at about 4.2 bb/100, and I'm thinking I should be b/t 7-10 bb/100. A couple things I've noticed by looking at my stats and play during this time:
- One thing I've noticed is that I usually multi-table between 3-6 ring games, at about 22/9/1.34 in PT, but I have a peculiar feeling that playing more that 3 hurts my w/r at all times other than Saturday afternoon "drunk time". However, there are times where I can really clean up by doing so, so I seem to gradually add a couple more tables during these periods until I end up back at 5-6.
- Another learning is that I'm about 2-3 laydowns per session away from increasing my w/r by 30-50% if I could only f-ing muck those really tough 2nd/3rd best hands---you know the ones you are 80-85% sure you are beat, but you find some reason to call.
- Another weakness is pushing AK/AQ too hard OOP when I whiff, particularly when I haven't seen a hand in a while.
- Alternatively, in comparing my Dec/Jan months to the more recent mths, I've noticed by VPIP went from 18 to 23 to 26. Is that 5% enough to cut my w/r in half???
Anyway, I wanted to get any thoughts on what I've heard about people boasting 10+ bb/100 at 100NL, and I wanted to know how common this is...
Thanks,
CK
