    Default Party Compared to PS

I started playing on PS about 2 months ago. I read somewhere on here about pokersource and the instant BR. So I took the time set it up. I got the deposit to Party yesturday. ( about 9 days ) I played for a few hours at 10NL and now I am 153 (of 1000) raked hands away from clearing the bonus. I am sitting at this minute $158.53 Deposit was $75. What is getting me the most is it seems "easier" at Party. No I was not in the beginner rooms, I do not like to get donked. Are the players at PS a little more "experianced" or am I just on a roll here?

Party has more donks. Whether it's 25NL or 100NL there are donks. And they will piss you off when they hit their runner runners, but in the long run they pay you off.

If you're not in the beginner's rooms then you're playing $25NL with your $75 deposit?
Party's lowest limits outside the beginners rooms are $0.10/$0.25, or am I missing something?

    party is the best

I think that 50nl on party is softer than 10nl on stars.

Never read any stickies or announcements
I actually sat down at some NL10 tables a couple weeks ago since one of my best friends IRL plays in that game and I wanted to get some stats on them. The game played really weak/tight for the most part, with some of the tables playing under 20 vpip. I obviously got bored and lost some money after repeatedly reraising 27o and showing. Eventually people caught on.

Aye if you do not have a money account at party or titan I believe you can get a deposit from http://pokersourceonline.com . Took about 9 days but they deposited $75 into my account and after 1000 raked hands get an additional $25. I am WAY up at this time.. It is a good deal if you have the time.

I was in there for about 10 minutes, then went to the nl25. I am not a "noob" and I believe in my skills.. No this is not a habit, but I was wanting to clear the 1000 Raked hands and at quad tabling 10nl It would take about 2 weeks, Not worth it IMO. I believe you where the one getting the Free Poker tracker the Same way??

Actually I cleared 2500 raked hands quadding the NL$5 at partypoker in about 9 days when clearing out topbucks40, topbucks50 and initial deposit.

It's not about your skill level, it's about the fact that even at those limits most tables average $2 per hand and you're paying $0.10 rake vs higher rake at higher levels. For example, after clearing the 3 bonuses I had payed about $11 in rake...why play any higher unless you need to (ie I played about 300 hands raked at $10 last night just because I was running out of time on topbucks50)

Overall I ended up $410 with bonuses, a copy of PO2, never went down more than 2 buy-ins (cept initially at the $10 last night with some river beats) and payed around $11 in rake...I'd say playing the NL$5 is worth it if you trust your skill.

I've played at both River Stars and Flushy poker, both at the 10 NL levels and my winnings/losings did not vary much between them. I lost a bit more on Party poker bc of T3o callers on a 4xbb and hitting T33 flop.

Does anybody have any comments on Paradise Poker as far as skill level?

Bonus is cleared. I am now sitting on $152.27. Initial Cost $0. I am now done playing " above" my br and I am enjoying MTT.
Do not let the last play cloud the current.

Current Goal - Build a BR on PS from $5.81

    Current BR $7.41

I'm not criticising! Although I will say, in my defence, that I wasn't playing at the higher levels I was "raked-hand collecting". I did play the nuts but I never risked my stack on much less. AI pf with AA is good play, but not if you've only got 2 buy-ins.

It was just that you said you were playing 10NL and not in the beginners section. Which sounded odd. If Party had 10NL outside I'd like to know 'cos then I wouldn't have to cash out

It's good play if even your BR is 1 buy-in..

    yes and no.

Sure your getting your money in with the best hand, but if you only have one or 2 buy-in's occasionally i'm going to tryand get cute with AA, obviously you need to know when you are beat with it, after seeing the flop/ turn, but AA can also get cracked when you push preflop.

The only reason i suggest this is because if you only have a few buy ins i need to make the most of my 'good' hands- and extract as much from them. I mean say you push with AA and everyone folds- that opportunity is gone, sure there are risks involved in slow playing it but hey- i like to live dangerously occasionally!

I kinda assumed that if your BR is in fact one buy-in and you want to play anyway (this has happened to me at one time lol), then you'll be buying in short.. so it shouldn't be too hard to get a caller then.

You shouldn't be playing with half your BR under any circumstances, but being AI PF with AA is always* ideal.

*the exceptions being in very specific and unusual tourney situations which are too uncommon to bother with on a beginners board

EDIT: just re-read this and what I meant was that it is good to be all-in WITH AN OPPONENT ALSO ALL-IN, not that you should invariably push with AA. I agre that it's not usually the best move, just to push willy-nilly pre-flop with rockets.

So you read that story too where 1st place got the same reward as 20th place so the girl folded two red aces on the bubble?

Ok. Good play. But call it bad BR management.

We're talking about a specific situation where you take your BR and buy in to a high-stakes game merely because you'll clear a bonus faster.

Worst case scenario, afaik, AA v KK you are 'only' an 80% chance to win. If you can afford to do it again and again, that's fine; but put your entire BR on it? Hardly.
