Default My masterpiece: How to donk of your chip lead. Thoughts?

So I'm on a downswing, and I feel like I'm playing like crap. So I need someone to kick me in the nuts.

This is a very tight table, VP$IP is 10-15 for just about everyone. No one is over 19. Good hands are being shown down. I tried to take advantage of this…somewhat.

    Disclaimer: I am a fish.

    1. I fold preflop here. I don't think it's right to be mixing it up with a marginal hand out of position here. You have the chip lead, and over 30BB.

    2. After the SB's push, you're getting 1 to 4 to call. If you're up against 8 with a higher kicker, you're getting 7 outs twice (a gutshot + making 2 pair), which will hit 30% of the time. That makes the pot odds good to call. If you're up against an overpair, say AA for example, you have 9 outs twice (the other 8s are also outs now), so pot odds also dictate you have to call. It's possible you're up against something like two pair or a set, but I'd say that chance is also close to the chance that the guy is on a pure bluff or even 2nd or bottom pair. I have to go for a call here.

    3. I like calling preflop. Seems like raising gets you pot-commited, so you might as well push if you're going to raise.

    4. The c-bet here seems a little too obvious and is for a pretty big portion of your stack. Maybe it seems obvious you have overcards to me because I already know you have overcards, but this seems like an easy push for villian if he caught anything on the flop, even just a draw.

    5. Yes

    6. Semi-bluff looks nice here, especially since that looks like a nice hand for a fat BBS. With 9 BB, checking is also an option because you still have enough chips to play with. I probably push here.

Hand 4 is a really bad continuation bet out of position. That's a terrible flop for AQ. A whole bunch of hands that called your preflop raise are going to be calling or raising your continuation bet. I'd just give this one up.

    1) Fold PRF and don't do it again!!!
    2) Push the flop or fold
    3) Push
    4) Good fold
    5) Good push
    6) Good push

Interesting thought on hand 1, as played preflop (and yes, the answer is fold preflop), when checked to you on the flop, why wouldnt you c-bet here, as you are up against the blinds, on a tight table? This of course depends on your image and how you got the chips in the first place. If the table is tight, you might get a weak ace to fold, and if called, get to check down to the river for free. I really feel the SB either has a weak ace or a mid pp, as he seemed worried with the flop, but after the checks figured his hand was good. Just my 2 cents.

if the table was really that tight, why did you not go for some pure steals from position? most of your raises seem to be from MP1/MP2, when you had half decent cards. on a tight table you dont need cards, just position.

    1) Fold. I'd play this w/ higher blinds, and/or 5 players left.

    2) Push flop. As played, I think you have to call his all-in. Looks like an OESD.

    3) I think I'd just push over him. You don't really want to have to play this post flop. As played, you robbed yourself of any FE you might have had (if he hadn't had AK) .

    4) Urm. Shitty hand. Check fold the flop.

    5) Nice, although I'm always a bit leery of people calling PF at this point in the game.

    6) Nice.

1- you said the table was tight, so the raise is fine. i would never fold that turn for such a small bet after showing weakness on the flop.
2- i usually don't raise that flop, but i think you are priced in to calling.
3- just push preflop. doing that small raise makes it awkward to play postflop.
4- bet more on flop or dont bet at all. check raise allin might work if they make a stupid bet
    5- i like it
    6- looks good

you were pwned by better players in these hands IMO. Where were you playing at that the players were this solid? Its like they read you like an open book in practically every hand.

I am just kidding. I think you just had unlucky and dominated situations in all these hands.

none of you guys like hand 4??

double belly buster gutshot, with 2 overs and possible running flush draw?

i think i woulda checkraised or even call the raise by the other person, if the other person has at least a J, your 2 overs 6 outs, plus the 9 or k for 8 more outs, mighta been good. er, nevermind i just saw he pushed all in. uhhh disregard this post. on the other hand, i mighta check raised here. button looks like he was just taking advantage of his position.
