I might toss 75 or so in there on the turn hand 1, he may be looking for a reason to (EDIT) fold black 7s or something. But checking is fine.

    Hand 2 - I play same.

I think you have to bet the turn with hand 1. There is already 3 to a flush on the board and you quite possibly either have the best hand or could scare off villian because of the flush possibility.

With that said, this early in the tourney (and in the heat of the moment) I probably would have checked as well.

Hand 2 I am torn on - MP1's play is consistent with a holding like 9's, 10's AJ or maybe J's. However he could also be FOS. I think I would have played it the same way, then shrugged if he turned over a hand that beats my 8's.

gator - do not fear the 'nuts'. AJ calls a bet on that board? JJ doesn't bet/raise? You're looking for reasons to fold. That's fine, but look for reasons why not too.

Yea, I guess AJ probably shouldn't have been in the range and I almost mentioned that JJ probably would have raised pre-flop.

Also, as I mentioned I would have played it the same way. If my comment lead you to believe that I would have folded then "my bad". The range of hands that are ahead of me at this point is way too small for me to lay this down.

    Edit:

I can see how this would lead you to believe that I may fold here. I was actually torn between a call and a raise.

I am not sure how many hands I am beating to warrant a raise here. Sure it could be some form of busted draw, but I can just pick this off with a call. I don't really want to give some goofball w/ A3 a chance to come back over the top of me. What's your thinking here Gator?

Anyone with a 3 isn't going away and typically would have bet on the turn, but it's not outside of the realm for A3s to limp from the button. I would be more concerned about AJ (again, not probable, but you wouldn't believe how many people will call pot sized bets chasing an A, only to hit their kicker) or pocket 9's or 10's.

The net is that, with that board you may have the best hand right now, but you still only have 2nd high pair and its a mid pair. No need to get crazy with it, just call.

Now, if I could only go through all of that in my head in less than 30 seconds!!!!
