Ivey's article in Bluff Magazine
I'm bringing this up because it gave me quite of a confusion. First of all I'm sure all here who watch and read a great deal of poker 411, that Phil Ivey is one of the greatest out there. He's been know to kill it in Cash games and now that he's planning to play more tournaments this year I'm sure he's going to kill them too. Anyway, Bluff Magazine asked him if he would solely stick to just playing to tournaments this year and his response was that he would just like to play tournaments and lay off in cash games because he's tired of wasting money. That wasn't his exact quote but I got the point correct. Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Cash games more profitable that MTTs?? It's so much harder to be ITM playing MTTs (well to us at least). In a recent article of "ALL IN" magazine he mentioned that you sorta have to have a disrespect for money in cash games. I know that you have to be deceptive to be able to win big pots but exactly what did he mean by this. Has anyone read these articles that can translate this to its simple meaning?
