bonus heyday over?

is is just me or is there a significant lack of meaningful bonuses from the major sites? pokerroom aside, it seems like gimmick giveaways and hollow promotions have replaced the monthly easy-to-clear bonus.

in the past there was competition between the sites, but i wonder if they are becoming more cartel-like.

oh well. at the end of the day, i can just be responsible for my own winrate minus the bonus carrots.
