Default Tossed aside my read, and miscalculated my odds and payed.

In this hand I knowingly got in with the second best hand based on my read, then I further compounded the issue by miscalculating my odds after the flop and made a bad call with bad pot odds. I was running good before this hand and got caught up in adrenaline (fortunately i made good decisions later on that made up for this loss)

bbrendo224 raises $0.12 to $0.14 // he's been quiet and waiting, I pretty much know this raise in early position means high pocket pair.
    carpnter folds
thirteen calls $0.14 // stupidly i decide i want to see the flop... It's about 7 to 1 for me to make a set. I didn't even have 2 to 1 pot odds, plus i put my opponent on a bigger hand then mine.
    rm8t0 folds
    parmstrong folds
    tacotacotaco folds
    tucutucu folds
    bcruar folds
    bluffcity folds
    Payme80 folds
    >>>DEALING FLOP<<< [ 8h 5s 7c ]
bbrendo224 bets $0.43 and is all-in // now i know he has over cards. I figure JJ or QQ
thirteen calls $0.43 // I have nothing but lowly sixes but I've been running good so my adrenaline is up... I figure i have 10 outs with my straight draw and miscalculated the odds at 55% for him to win with an overpair (it was actually closer to 65% him I think). So... I decide to call based on my 10 outs despite my read and the poor pot odds. BAD MOVE.
    >>>DEALING TURN<<< [ 5c ]
    >>>DEALING RIVER<<< [ Kd ] // this is bad, if he is by chance only holding AK and my read of a pocket pair was wrong then he's just beat me...
bbrendo224 cards were Kh Kc // Higher pair than i thought.
thirteen mucks hand //at least with a mucked hand the table does not witness my idiocy.
bbrendo224 wins $1.15 with a full house, kings full of fives

Okay, your first mistake here was to call a raise which was under 10% of both your and your opponent's stacks. What this means is that if you DO hit your set, and almost certainly win the hand, you will only receive the rest of his stack which is only 3 times bigger than the call. This is bad poker because you will win 3x your bet one time in eight - I hope it's clear why that's wrong.

Secondly, if you have a strong read he has QQ-AA (and tbh I don't think you can have at the micro-limits, but let's assume you do) you have only 2 outs (plus a very small chance of making a flush or straight). The pot odds are so heaped against you that folding should be instantaneous.

Thirdly, when you call his all-in there are no implied odds which would, with your straight draw, give you better justification to call. This is, again, an obvious fold.

But you know you played it wrongly, which is good - I hope this helps you realise all the ways in which you played it wrongly.

Great points, Thank you. I figured by posting the hand and commenting on my play in the hand history would make me more aware of the mistakes and less likely to repeat them.
