I fold the SB a lot.

Once you make the flush, you can't fold.

hmmm...I ain't no pro but I think that's a "fold preflop" and save yourself from a world of pain. Also, if you didn't read him as a maniac I would have folded the river. Your turn bet was kinda weak so it made sense for him to semibluff you by reraising.

I couldn't put any reads on him. It was his first hand. He just sat down. My bet was the size of the pot.

If he's slow playing a set, which it kinda looks like on the turn raise, you have 8/46 (8 because if the 2c comes and he has a set, he just made a boat or 4 of a kind) outs to make a flush and 6$ to call into a 15$ pot. Thats assuming that your flush outs are clean, here they arent but you had no way of knowing that.

So you could make an argument to just fold to his turn raise.

Basically, what you're saying is I'm not getting the right price to call the turn-raise to catch the flush.

It's hard sometimes to calculate on the fly the right price.

True but if you're betting the pot when a 3c comes on the turn, your opponent has to be thinking it ain't the 3 that helped you there but perhaps the flush draw or straight draw (flush draw is more likely since you would have had to limp wth A4, A5, 45 or 46 to be put on a straight draw). So your pot sized bet really looked to me like a drawing bet and if he figured that out it was a really good move from your opponent to go all-in on the river since he had the nut flush and he perhaps knew you had it too.

Well, maybe I'm pushing this a little too far but it makes sense to me

    Anyway FOLD PREFLOP

So my bet should've been maybe 1.5x, 2x, or 3x the pot for him to fold the flush draw unless he was a maniac and would just call anyways because it would've been very difficult to fold my flush.

    Your opinions are always welcomed
