I was playing at a home game, flopped 2 pair (aces and deuces) and this guy kept check, call, check calling me and eventually got higher 2 pairs. He was holding ace 8. I did indeed raise preflop but I dont think he was folding his aces... *sigh* I need some tips....

If you flopped 2 pr with A2 and he had A8, you can't really blame him for check/calling you cuz he had the ace as well...depending on how much you were betting relative to the pot size, how many people were in the hand, how much you raised preflop (with A2?), what hands he thinks you'd bet with, etc etc etc.

Pick up HoH1. He presents lots of scenarios which should help you develop your game.

Since they play premium hands either try to bet them off the pot when they miss, or trap them when they hit.

Play tight and let them lead the betting. Trap them with a big hand. Occassionally call their weak hands.

This is a bad beat. You were ahead and played it correctly. Keep playing this way with this type of plr.
