UTG+1 is check/calling me on all streets. He is just not sure who is winning here. He took a long time to call the river bet. Any indication I am beat here? I put him on AJ or KQ, I was wrong.

He took a long time to call becaue you may have had AK, AA , QQ or JJ based on your re-raise preflop.

He raised 3 x's BB in early position and got re-raised. His play was terribly passive in this example, but effective because you did all the betting for him. He feared AA or QQ but you did not make is so expensive that he was forced to go away or reveal his strength. To the extent that you bet all along pot sized was good.

You didn't necissarily do anything wrong here aside from the re-raise w/ AQ. When you face an EP raise, especially against a passive opponent, you are going to want to think about mucking the AQ, AJ etc., but it's not wrong to re-raise once in a while to mix it up and avoid being predictable.

Next time, think about overbetting to find out if you are beat. His preflop raise could easily be AK, AA, KK or QQ. Any one of those hands could potentially check call you down and it would only be a mistake with the AK.

Let me ask you this, had you overbet the flop for $2.5o or 3 would you have folded that hand to a re-raise from him?

The advice I looked up for AQo in LP facing a raise is to fold against a tight raiser or re-raise otherwise. I had no read on this guy so I reraised. If he had reraised me PF I would have folded. If he had reraised on the flop I would have folded. Heck, I remember being this passive with KK when I first started out. Oh well, this is one of those live and learn situations. I think most of the time the KK is going to play more aggressively here. I certainly would have expected a lead out bet on the flop. I am not sure what I could do better here other than consider that I might be beat. Hehe

For what it's worth, I would bet bigger on the flop + turn, then probably check behind on the river.

what can you do!? I was waiting for any info telling me I was beat, without it I put him on TP.. i even gave him the rest of his stack at the river...
