Default My very own critical HHs

    Hi there folks,

First of all, i'm really glad that i've found this forum, i've already learned a lot here, especially from the HH analysis topics. And here comes my own, hehe. After a 1 month suffering on the prima network, i tried party and this decision has proved the be a good one, i'm quite successful in 25NL (hey, i have to build a bankroll, hehe); but there's a bunch of critical hands where i'm not sure if i played it wrong or not.

    First one:

Yes, there's a possible str on the board, but unfortunately i put him on AJ after the PF raise. Well, maybe i shouldnt have do so.

    partees shows [ 8d, 5h ] a straight, four to eight.
partees wins $48.58 from the main pot with a straight, four to eight.

I was pretty sure that he wanted to steal the pot, but he had a nice draw, the kind that's almost impossible to detect imho, but i was careless when he reraised me on the turn. I couldn't imagine that i was beat on the river. Well, looks like i was wrong, hehe.

The first hand looks a bit fishy.
He raises but then doesnt attack the pot post flop. If he has a pair or even an overpair or set i would think he has to bet at that pot. Even a continuation bet. It would be dangerous to check it, unless of course he wants or needs to see another card. Its active with a potential draw.
If he checks that im betting into him hard. If he comes back hard then thats a problem. i just cant see him checking that flop, it seems weak or that he needs to see another card.
Obviously the turn makes you toast with 4 outs to a better hand, not that i wouldnt call either with two pair or think i was probably ahead.

    set vs straight hand.
Yeah, thats tough to detect. one of those hands i think when the river arrives you are going to pay off the straight. I think you just have to say that you ran into a better hand and hope it doesnt happen too often. Ill pay that off most times i think.
