Taking a break from the table?

been reading all the post here trying to get ready for my first vegas trip...but have'nt seen one thing addressed...can you leave the table (post blinds and fold everyhand) and return? i know online you can "sit out" and as long as you return b4 missing 3 BBs you can sit back in. is this also the case in brick and morter? any smoking card rooms left in vegas?

You sure can. In a ring game, you just won't be dealt cards. If you miss a blind, they won't take a blind from your stack, but when you return, you have to put in an extra blind. Just like on-line.

I believe all poker rooms in vegas are non-smoking, but I could be mistaken.

you don't even have to post a dead blind when you come back. you can just wait until the blinds come around to you and post the BB in turn to get dealt back into the game.

if you are playing stud, you don't have do to anything at all to get back into the game.

ask the dealer, but you can usually just get up and leave for 30 minutes if you want. if you don't come back, they'll just lock up your chips and seat someone else. you can recover your chips of course.

most places will also allow you a "play over" if you need a longer break. This is usually done when someone wants to go eat or needs to be away from the table for a longer period of time. They will usually give you up to an hour to get back to your chips.
