Default AA, KK, AK Reraise Preflop??

I was looking at a hand in the "Hand History's" section and it got me thinking. I was wondering if dealt, AA, KK, or even AK late in position and there has already been a mediocre to strong raise in front of you, should you raise here to show strength in your hand or is calling good enough to show strength in this situation? I've been just calling in this situation in the past but I have also been playing way too conservatively in all aspects of my game, so this is why I am asking.

you need to do both, if your only reraising with those hands everytime you wont make much money with it. Every once in a while you should just call in late position, because 90 percent of the time the raiser will bet the flop.

also I think it depends how likely you think the blinds are to call, you don't want to run your big pairs against 3 other opps, and if you smooth call the pot starts looking pretty temping with a 76s. Generally I think you should raise. Best smooth call here IMHO is if you're the BB and everyone else is out.

With AK I'm more iffy, I think either play is good. Raising if nothing else may get you a free turn card, but if you get re re raised you're mucking the hand.

At a table of fish you should reraise almost every time, however at higher limits I would think concealing your hand becomes more important so you could go either way. If anyone has called that raise though I would be reraising almost every time. Try to get just one caller, but otherwise you still took a little bit and didnt give them the chance to suck out.

by the time you are ready to play at stakes where concealing your hand is beneficial, you will be have already learned what to change to do it.

In other words: yes raise everytime.

From what I've read here on FTR you should usually reraise with AA or KK - to isolate and protect. With AK you probably want to reraise as well because if you're up against AA or KK you're behind and it'll save you money post-flop (provided AA or KK re-re-raises). Then if you only get calls you're probably good. My .02

With big pairs, get the most money in the pot preflop as you can while bringing others with you.

if there is a raise in front of me and i have AK .. normally i'll just call and see what develops on the flop. if you reraise preflop with AK against AA KK or QQ your going to get reraised again.. calling with just AK, you have a shot at out drawing AA KK with a straight or flush if its suited, or perhaps out draw the KK with an ace on the flop. just dont move all in or call in with AK i see this mistake a ton at the tables.

AA or KK its an automatic reraise.
