    Default online success?

Can anybody claim to play online in the cash games and win money consistently session after session after session?

This must be possible as I know people who does this in live poker, I've even done it myself at my local casino when I clocked up 25 consecutive winning cash sessions. I began to think I should go professional, but I told myself that I must be over-rating myself.

You won't profit every session. A lot of people here can claim to be able to consistently prfot though, and that the goal in poker. Most of my sessions are profitable, but not all of them.

Yeah, I accept this, but I guess I'm (ELUDING) to the fact that it is a lot harder to profit consistsently online than in live poker. I believe there are various reasons for this, not least of which is that live poker is a different game entirely where watching the opponents and picking up tells is the key to success. It is harder to do this online, though still possible to a certain extent.

It seems to me, though, that no online site can possibly benefit from someone winning all the time. The more players who play online, the more money the site will make. No site would want opponents scared away by a dominant player, would they?

    himself fucker.
Live games are always softer than online games for many reasons.

Also, no amazing player is going to scare away the fish. The amazing player will play at amazing stakes.

I haven't played in a casino, so most of my profit is online.

lately though, i've definitely seen some live game variance against my LAGgy ass calling station friends :P

My online sessions are either: break even, or win/lose a LOT. I don't play a safe-solid game in most cash games, but i'm not stupid either. I either get paid big or lose big, rarely in between

    What game/stakes?

You could play 12 20+2 SnGs every day and almost never have a losing session is you're really g00t.

Good online 5 card draw players are claiming really low variance as well, although the shark/guppy ratio in those games is getting worse.

Playing short stacked in the Pacific 100 or 200 NL might also be a pretty low variance proposition.

I have been playing on PartyPoker, $1/2 limit. The variance is huge.

One day I will make draws according to the average (i.e a four flush or straight draw on the flop comes good once every three hands on average; doesn't necessarily make it the winning hand though), but the next day I never seem to be able to hit any draws. The other thing that will happen frequently is that fish playing small pairs with two or three overcards on the flop (the pair should be mucked) will become trips on the turn or river.

Move up to 2/4. The rake discount alone will make a bigger winner out of you and hence tone down the swings (in terms of BB, not $$)
