Default Hand selection at NL 0.25/0.50 and position

I usually limp from the button or late position with hands like J9, Q9 or K9 and maybe SC. Is this a sound strategy or could it be regarded as a leak in my game?
Should you call with semi weak hands just based on position?

Personally I would fold J9, Q9 and K9 in any position unless they are suited.

On the button in an unraised pot I would raise with a hand like Q9s.

    - You might win right there.
    - If you are re-raised then easy fold, tough luck but best to flush out the check/raise big hands early. If you limp and flop Qxx against AA or KK you are in big trouble.
    - If you are called and hit the flop, great your pf raise got more money in the pot.
    - If you are called and miss the flop you have position to make a move against passive opponents.

I play some suited connectors in the same way from late position. I don't play 23, 34, 45 or 56. Personally I just don't like drawing to the bottom end of a straight draw, and if I am chasing a flush I want the A.

To me, it depends how far into the SnG you are...if you're still early in it, I wouldn't play these hands at all. Later they become good stealing hands, and short-handed they hold up well.

I think he was talking about ring game. Always raise with a mediocre hand with position and unraised pot. Will be the cheapest information of the hand you can get.

    Default Raising

I like the raise move from the button... but if there has been 2 limpers ahead of you and there are still 2 players to act behind you you´re bound to get called and if you dont hit the flop or hit it but with a ace youre in big trouble, i think it would be sound to just call if there´s limpers or a hefty raise if you think the limpers are kind of weak to pick it up right there... But if you get called preflop should you throw in a pot sized bet postflop aswell if there is no significant scare cards (regardless if you hit or not)?

Raise is only from a button with an unraised pot. If you feel like gambling you can try from 1 away from button.

    Oops...yeah, what was I thinking?

In ring, I use these hands in late position - limp if there are limpers ahead of me, raise if not (varying with table dynamic).

I raise with those hands in LP every now and then as a table image fixer-upper, or as a chance to take down a raised pot based on my position.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

NO NO NO NO. In a ring game never call with mediocre hands...RAISE in pos. but you must only do this with minimal limpers (pot steal)
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

My feeling on this is that raising with hands like K9 in late position should depend on the looseness of the players your trying to steal from. I usually have Game time + running while I'm playing at party and if the blinds are calling stations with high flops seen percentages then trying to steal is a waste of money. If the guys behind you are rockish then it becomes profitable to try to steal. However, if you play at the same table for a while it could be a good idea to mix things up a little bit so the other players don't get a good read on you.
