Preflop raise sucks.

I call for 6.5 more absent a read. Too many hands make this play. Basically, any 5. Any pocket pair. Some Aggro OESDs.

I toss it there. Absent read, you couldn't possibly put him on a bluff. He's got to have a 3 or a higher pocket pair. I wouldn't see him re-raising with just the 5 unless he was bluffing, but without a read, no way to know.

I'd probably call the reraise, but I've been playing losing poker because of just that. The right play is to drop it.

rilla, it seems the hand converter can't handle two people being all-in at different times. one guy re-raised all pre-flop but he was massive short stack so we all called, then I pushed on the turn, so I think thats what screwed it up. Whatever. Don't mean to threadjack.

Wrong. Get used to really bad players pushing with very weak hands. I've seen A5 push on that board a million times at stakes under 100 NL.

Your read that he has a higher pocket pair is silly. No way AA or KK is not reraising after it was raised in EP and called twice. No one is silly enough to not reraise with KK or AA here.

He's paying you off with most 5's and any pocket pair greater than 5 and a lot of really silly hands like AK or AQ that thinks you're unpaired or bluffing.

Like I said, you've got to get used to really bad players.

I'd push, he has a smaller pocket pair than you do. He figures you have 2 over cards and you didn't connect on the flop.

Yea, UTG with QQ, 4x sounds about right to me.

I'm pushing here. It's 99 percent that he has a PP and thinks your AK/Aq/AJ missed. The only hand I MIGHT be worried about here is pocket 5s. If he's got that, then it sucks to be me. If he's holding anything with a 3 in it... well, I'm paying it off, and then reloading. If he's calling 4xBB with a 3 in his hand, then I'll wait. He'll give me my money back.

i think pretty much everything's been said here.

i agree the boat would very likely not re-raise here (ie pp 55)

KK/AA is very unlikely, and a read would help if this player was capable of calling w/ A3, K3, 34s etc

most likely i'd say it's a pp below QQ thinking you had overs.

Outcome was I call, he flips over AKo, and I laugh as the turn and river bring nothing for him, thankfully.

Yeah, I was a little worried about A3, as I see people call huge raises with crap like that all the time, but there was no way I could lay this down.
