Default When you just can't get a winning hand...

My worst poker session so far was really depressing.
Suddenly poker was not any fun any more and the poker Gods
had left me to the wolves.

This is how I lost two stacks of 50$.

3x AK not pairing - cost me 6$ inn preflop raises + 12$ in pot bets = 18$
    2x AQ hitting the Q cost me 20$ loosing to a set and a straight. = 20$
2x AJ hitting the J cost me 11$ loosing to a caller hitting his straight = 11$
3x JJ - cost me 7+13+22$ loosing to KK, QQ, and a straight = 42$
    3x AXs - cost me 6$ due to no flush draws= 8$
1x 99 - cost me 15$ due to hitting my set loosing to a flush on the turn.
2x 88 - cost me 6$ calling and not hitting set

My only two winnings > 3$ came in BB with T3s flopping two pair and 53s flopping a flush, but they didn't pay much. Both tables were pretty loose.

Sometimes poker sucks. I need to stay away for a couple of days I think.

3x AK not pairing - cost me 6$ inn preflop raises + 12$ in pot bets = 18$

    Preflop raise: Good.
Postflop pot bets.. eh.. not so good, but not horrid. You can bet your overcards, but you have to know if an A or K isn't coming up, you're probably toast. And if it DOES, you might still be toasted by a pocket pair hitting the set, or two pair, or something of that nature.

    2x AQ hitting the Q cost me 20$ loosing to a set and a straight. = 20$

I know its hard to lay down, but TPTK is not so great that it can't be folded. If there's a straight on the board, and someone is betting it, you're better off just dropping it. The set was probably harder to see (pocket pair, i assume) but if someone is betting against you and you have QQ, you have to put them on KK, AA, two pair, or a straight. Depending on your read of the person, fold this when re-raised or check it down.

2x AJ hitting the J cost me 11$ loosing to a caller hitting his straight = 11$

AJ is an evil, evil hand. Again, straight on the board, gotta let it go. If a Q or K had popped you'd have been toasted too.

3x JJ - cost me 7+13+22$ loosing to KK, QQ, and a straight = 42$

JJ is an above average hand, but it royally sucks if an A, K, or Q, hits the board. AKQs are almost GUARENTEED to be in someone's hand. They seem to stick around no matter what. And those J's are just like holding pocket 7s. Hope to hit a set, if you don't hit it, GTFO.

    3x AXs - cost me 6$ due to no flush draws= 8$

Flushes hit about 1 in 9 (i think.. yeah..), losing $8 on them is nothing to complain about. You'll make it back when it hits.

The others ARE worse-than-average beats, but I don't see AA beat by KK or anything of that sort, so you're not horridly getting slammed. (I lost 75 to KK beating AA, and QQ beating KK) Your post-flop play probably needs a little attention. If there's a straight on the board, you can usually count on someone having atleast 4 cards of it and only needing one more. Ditto for flushes (though it seems less often for some reason. I guess people see 7-9o and think, eh, maybe i'll hit the straight, but see J4s and not even think of a flush draw).

    Nice comments euphoricism.
    Some comments to the comments:
3x AK: I folded all three after the turn, (got to see hands from other's showdowns)
2x AQ: I didn't see the small set comming, and the straight was a fish just calling me and hitting his straight on the river making me fold, showing cards.
2x AJ: Calling fish again getting his straight on the river, trying to check raise me so at least I checked out of it. This guy would call anything with anything, but he had a very lucky day. The other one, nice flop, I bet the pot get one caller, turn is K and I fold to his bet.
JJ-1: I raise 2$ and call a all in reraise to 7$ from a small stack holding pocket QQ.
JJ-2: I fold to a huge reraise on the turn after a nice flop and he shows pocket KK.
JJ-3: I raise 2$ and a small stack push in 7.5$ all in. I call his (ATs) but get reraised by BB to 12$. FLOP comes (2 6 T) and I call his 5$ on turn and river and he shows pocket KK.Should have folded to his reraise. Bad play.
3xAXs: I know and I only played them from good positions.

I also played quite a long time after this, playing really tight on one table (16% flops) getting nothing better than KQo, losing a few $ and trying more aggression on the other table (38% flop) making a profit of 2$
    I did not tilt though.

    himself fucker.
Don't go 3 way AI preflop with JJ?

Try not to go AI with JJ preflop as a general rule.

Also, I don't like Axs since the flush hardly ever comes and I have the most difficulty get flushes paid off (Of the made hands, I think it's the most easily readable).

as said before, JJ is not a pushing hand. i usually only even push qq if i really don't respect my opponent.

my advice on ak or aq, is if you miss, don't raise the flop at low limits, you're gonna get called more than enough to make it unprofitable.

the 99 set. if there is 2 to a flush, and you don't bet hard on the flop or you slowplay it in any way, you are risking losing a little pot for possibly getting a big pot. on that turn, you gotta be able to recognize that the flush card came. if your opponent check/called the flop, then lights up and bets/raises the turn, fold like a cheap suit.

the aq and aj's that hit, then you got beat on the turn, river. especially the river. these are weak hands, bet the pot or close to it. sometimes, you get a calling station, and you can't help it. but generally that turn bet is pretty big and they will get scared off. if you get worried they're drawing, overbet the pot, make them pay extra for the card.

these are just tips for the future. it sounds like your case really was some bad luck, but maybe if you run into bad luck in the future you can stem some of the bleeding.

    thanx for all advice.
I played again yesterday, playing tight and only seeing 19% and 22% flop on my two tables. Made 18$ only without getting any really good hands to play, but played better with JJ and AK/AQ, getting out earlier when I didn't hit.
