    Default Flopping lower 2 pair

I was playing NLHE at a friend's house, and I checked the big bling with 7 9 o.

Flop comes 7 9 K, I bet about 3xBB, he calls, turn comes a K, and then I bet about 3xBB again and he raises way over me and I fold (He then showed me 6 10, confirming my fear that he bluffed me out of it. However, I really only had 2 pair.)

Should I have bet bigger on the flop to discourage that?

not the flop, the turn. yea sure you could've increased your flop bet a little bit, to 5x maybe, but the most important thing was to bet the pot on the turn. by betting only 3x again you basically showed fear of the kings. the only time i would do that, was if i actually had a king. otherwise bet the pot so you at least know he's got something.

    himself fucker.
Your weak betting induced a bluff from a scary board.

It's a small pot anyway so you don't have to worry about it.

You just gotta play more aggressively and less fearfully.

If the flop came down rainbow, I probably would have checked and let him bet into you so you could re-raise his ass.

I think a check raise would have been a bad play here. If you check raise on the flop and the turn comes with that king you are in a world of hurt if he's holding it (Have to trust your read). Obviously in retrospect a check raise would have played perfectly here but I think in the long run check raising with bottom 2 pair is a losing situation unless you are sure you've got a great read.
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.
