when is it good odds to put someone allin at flop (tourn)

Heres a question (didnt know what to search for for previous answers sorry)

going allin at big-pot flop against 1 other, when you've got them covered


say your in a tourn, and youve got someone covered... you're on 12k theyre on 4k you have AQo early pos...

big blinds (400/800) you raise to 3k preflop and get one caller ... now Im woundering when its profitable to put him allin at the flop - no matter what flops... as he only has 1k left.. would it be worth putting or meeting him allin at the flop whereby your betting another 1k for potential of 8k return.

sorry about the shoddy description but there must be some kindof guidelines and ways to work it out, taking into account how much you'll have left and also possibly blind levels.

under those circumstances, regardless of the flop, put him all-in

If he wasn't strong enough with his hand to push preflop and stupid enough to call 75% of his stack... you probably have him beat. I agree, push that on any flop all day.

Put him allin, thats a rare situation where there is only one clear path, you would be crazy to fold and give him 8K rather than calling off another 1K to see it out.
