playing multiple tables in 6 max

Alright guys, I've been winning consistently for a few weeks now at the 6 max .25 NL tables at PP, but whats up with this multiple table thing? I can see how it can be done in a full game, but still I can probably only play 2 or 3 max. Don't you sacrifice a lot because your attention is not on the other players and their habits, but rather on on your cards? Maybe it's cause I get involved in too many pots, but trying to play two tables in 6 max is hectic as hell, especially when you catch QQ in one and AQ in the second at the same time. I like to study my opponents and learn their betting habits, and steal whenever I sense weakness, but I can't do any of it effectively when I have two games going. What I do find useful is that I can probably get by for a little while playing two games at once, and if one of them becomes more profitable I will just leave the other one to focus on the good game. Maybe playing multiple tables just isn't for everyone, or is it even possible with 6 max since the action goes much faster? Any insights??

I've always found it difficult to multi-table shorthanded. Obviously me saying that doesn't help, but I agree that it is so. Typically if one of my tables (I play full) gets shorthanded, I focus on it almost exclusively. If all I was playing was short-handed, I'd probably just do a table at a time.

Observe one table and once you're done with those 5 opponents, add another table and watch them. Then if you still want another, toss on a 3rd. Don't just hop on 3 tables and go crazy, you'll miss some crucial details.

when i do play 25NL, i multitable, i just jump on the first 4-5 tables i can find, fullish tables only. I think with 6 max tables, stick to 3 or so as a max, because shorthanded I find I have to pay a lot more attention, especially if it gets to 4 or so, in order to break even, i can't just play tight like i would at a full table while multitabling.

i tend to learn quite a lot from hand histories, not sure if thats available everywhere but it works well (most of the time) at UB, when sometimes you miss what exactly happened you can check who bet and who called with what etc.. one great advantage of internet vs live play I find.

thanks guys, i'll just keep it simple for now and play one table at a time shorthanded, and if the game is too slow or something i might check out another table. I like rilla's idea of studying one table first before jumping to another. Although it still seems hectic. But like i said, it's probably cause i see way too many flops (it seems more profitable in 6 max to see more flops)

Well it's not about playing the most tables is it, it's about making the most money Some make more by multi tabling and some by playing the players...
Stick to what you feel is best for yourself.

I've always assumed that the guys multi-tabling must have PokerTracker and PlayerView. Is this right? So even if you're not paying close attention, the software is gathering the numbers and PV is putting it right on the play screen.
At a glance you can see how often they put money in the pot, how aggressive they are, etc. The data is going to be from a small set usually, but it'll tell you they're M.O. for the last hour or two!

I don't multi-table, though I've tried to do it once or twice. The worst thing is when I have the same seat position at two tables...I can never tell which one I'm at. Or the screen will switch right as you're clicking one of the pre-act buttons and screw you.

I haven't used playerview or gt+ yet, but I do regularly multi at 2 tables. It's not too hard to pay a decent amount of attention to two tables at the same time, especially using UB's miniview (plus you tear through bonus $$$ that much faster).
