    Default Who shows?

i was wondering, in a cash game who has to show their cards in an all in. lately someone i know will call an all in or go all in then never show his hand if he's beat. doesnt the aggressor have to show anyway?

    It's all about position.

You should be showing in posistion order, and anyone that doesnt want to show his/her hand doesnt need to, they can just say they lost.

Basically, if SB flips over a winning hand, then no one else needs to show anything...

On the other hand, if the dealer has the winning hand, then everyone will need to show all hands

At least thats how i understand it.

generally speaking the person who makes the original bet (that the other(s) have called) has to show their cards first. Sometimes when two people are at it and one went all-in preflop, they like to show at exactly the same time (especially in tourneys). It is also not uncommon that the person with the nuts (or maybe with just a great hand) would show their cards first regardless of position. Like if someone bets all in, they call and immediately show.

Basically there's a lot of grey area in who has to show first. But as a general rule, the original bettor must show their cards first.

Oh yeah and as a sidenote, if someone goes all-in preflop and gets called by one person and no others are in the pot, both players must immediately show their cards before any community cards are put up. This is also the case if several players go all-in and they are all covered by a large stack; since no further betting can occur later in the hand, all cards must be revealed. Ex: You bet all-in with 2000 chips, get called by someone with 1800, and someone with 2500 chips raises all-in, who in turn is called by a huge stack with 5000 chips. At this point all players would show their cards.
