Default The Fish are Getting Smarter...

So much for getting reads on betting patterns....

I have noticed this trend alot the past couple weeks. It has always been around but it seems more prevalent (to me) now I suppose.

Flop comes, this guy will bet min, Mr. I Only Read Players By Sizes of Bets will raise because the bettor showed weakness and Mr. Min Bet will shove a checkReRaise right down Mr. I Only Read Players By Sizes of Bets thorat causing a fold. And this type of Mr. Min Bet/Check Raise always has a decent hand, and he limps with everything.

Please take notes on these players to avoid their trap, because getting check raised when ur trying to buy the pot sux. On the other hand when u crack their aces because they allowed u to limp JK....

Not sure I'd think of someone capable of doing this as a complete fish...were they players you already thought of as weak?

I've pulled that play myself a few times. It's lovely when you're on the other side of it

Yeah, it happens all the time. Notes really help.

I actually use this play a lot when I'm H/U against an aggressive player who'll try to steal the pot every hand if he smells weakness.

No matter what I have, I'll raise preflop, to indicate strength, check the flop, and then once he makes the inevitable bet, I'll reraise him huge, and he'll fold. It's amazing how these types of players don't ever catch on to what I'm doing, and just continue to fire away into flops they missed, only to fold to the check-raise.
