Low limit type question

Ok, i could explain how all this came about, but instead I will just ask one question.

How often do you all play a hand in a loose low limit game? Do you genuinely only play ak/aq/aj and high pockets? My problem lies here: Over however long I played today, maybe 8 hours, whenever i had ak/aq/aj, none of them ever hit. I would bet hard preflop, drive out most callers, just to not hit it, and sometimes continue betting after the flop just to continue to not hit and get called out to the river and lose. sometimes i'd fold after not hitting the flop. either way i lost significant amounts of money. maybe one pocket pair i had made a set. My problem, is that when you have ak, aq, aj, you're supposed to bet hard. I usually do bet hard, and lose. Do you think I can make money playing only pocket pairs, and folding JJ and below when they don't make sets at that? I don't see how I can win against multiple calling stationy type people with anything less.

i started low limit play 2 days ago...and i am up ~$3 on the .02/.04 games...which is a damn loose table. Anywayz i have found that playing groups 1-4 plus suited connectors have provided me some $. I play only about 25% of my hands, so it takes a long time to see an increase in $ but be patient and play solid poker, and you'll see a small income with even the low limits.
