Default Is there a best time to play?

I have found that past about midnight or so the $25 ring games really seem to get tough. I seem to notice that between about 5pm and 10pm (central) I have a much easier time. I am playing at Pokerroom, so I know a lot of people won't be able to give me an exact answer, but is this true for everybody else?

Is it smart to only play during this time-period assuming I am only playing about 3-4 hours a day anyway or is this all in my head?

To me the tables at most online places seem easier during the day. I play a little bit from the office (usually while on my lunch hour - shhhh!) and most players are either maniacs throwing money away, or calling stations. At night the general level of play seems to increase.

The rest of the time I'm up at 50NL but lunch hour is real tender.

Ignore the big 6 AM spike, I only played one session at that time.

This chart is for 17K hands at .25/50, .50/1.00, and 1/2 limit HE tables.
Just another reason to get PokerTracker

    EDIT: These time are CST.

    Nice graph Lonnie.

Fnord has talked about this before. I think like 7:00pm - 11:00pm eastern is considered the fishiest time of day, although this belies Lonnie's graph.

I've also heard that its good to go on just after a WPT episode or WSOP episode has finished airing.

I've found anywhere from 4:00 to about 8:00 PM have a ton of fish... at least on Party Poker.

Hi folks, back from a bit opf a hiatus from moving and just being busy as hell at work.

I have been interested in this topic for some time now. I recently read a report from a successful pro that stated the time from midnight to 3am was very profitable due to the high % of tired and intoxicated players.

I have begun playing the 'prima' NL ring games more often and find a high number of European players at the 10pm-3am Euro time slot (I believe the time shift is 8-10 hours) does seem loose/passive for the most part.

Combined with some of the info of this thread, it seem that there are some good potentials at varying sites all day long and specifics of the table conditions are perhaps the more relevant factor. Would still like to hear more opinions and findings though.

This topic has been discussed with some interesting points in this thread as well, so check it out if you're interested:
