Why do you raise after the flop in hand one? I dont know much about raising with flush draws/when its profitable. I thought it was best only when you are the last to act?

It's not just about value, it's also about deception and aggression. I win a lot of flush draws out of pure aggression. Also, if I fold out the button I would be last to act on the turn...

Think of it what would you do when you have top pair top kicker with two suited cards on the board? You raise it up, because you want that person who could be possibly chasing that flush to pay you out 2/3's of the time. Now think of the reverse of this psychology, someone else will think you have top pair top kicker when you raise, not putting you on the flush draw. By thinking that, the person could more possible think the cards he's chasing, say open ended straight, middle pair, etc, if they were to hit he would think he's got the best hand. If your hand hits as well as his hand hits, you make big money.

I know this seems against all logic, or at least it did to me up until about 2 months ago, but it actually works.
