Default What's up with betting the min in a huge huge pot?

I been playing on partypoker for some times now. I have been following the ABC poker guideline and is doing pretty well there.

but something i notice on party's 25nl is that some people constantly betting the minimum after the flop. I can understand if the pot size is small. but i am seeing ppl betting and min raising after the flop with 25 cents. even in pots like $5 and up and even funnier after a reraise war pre-flop.

Ok, here is the question, is there something to this strategy that i don't know off? or this is just fishy play that i can ignore? i mean betting the min with the best hand is like giving a free card isn't it? only reason i can think of behind this is that many ppl will see this min bet that yell "please reraise me" and do exactly that. other than that, i just don't see a point of doing this, cause this move achieve nothing at all.

do u guys notice this? your opinion on this?

alot of the time i see this is when they are on some kind of draw and using it as a blocking bet. I dont see much min-reraising wars though so im not really sure of that but it doesnt seem like a very good strategy when people at these stakes will call with so little already.

It's called retard bet or gaybet, either one works. Some people are retarded and can't think of an appropriate bet so they pull retarded things like that. They can have trips, a draw, any pair, who the hell knows.
They let you draw for cheap, take their money.

I play 100NL and there are still enough people who min raise preflop with something like AA, KK, AK etc... or sometimes something like 56 suited. It's difficult to read them, but they will never bust you, so don't worry about it too much.

When I see that at 25NL tables (apparently the game in question), it's almost always a draw.

Usually I see that, I make a huge (pot sized) raise, they call, and then fold to a turn pot (or hit their draw).

I have seen a few times someone do that with trips. It's almost like giving a free card. I think they're trying to induce a big raise.

The 25c blocking bet is classic 25NL.
Then there are the guys that bet 25c a lot instead of checking. Sometimes this does win the pot!
Then there are the guys that bet 25c to see where you're at. If you just call, they make a move on the next street.
Finally, there are the guys who'll make really weak bets to try to build up the pot a bit for one silly reason or another.

I see this at the .5+.1 SnGs I play people will win a pot with a pot with a min bet when it was raised to 4xBB pre flop.

min bet is one of a couple things from what I have seen.
1.) They have a monster and are looking for somone to tyr to push them out of the pot
2.)They are trying to see the next card for cheap at least at my level where very few people will reraise.
3.) They are a complete donk and think min betting is an acceptable practice.

I think the only time I will ever min raise is to try to do a bet cap to see the next card for cheap or around like level 10 where the blinds are like 500.
