    Still on that feckin' island!

Question Stack Control @ Zoom Tables?

One for all you Zoomers/Rushers/Fast Forwarders

What's your strategy when your stack gets >200bb?

Do you just let it roll (e.g. do you find - mebbe at lower limits - that ze feesh start treating you like a Tourney chip-leader and you can throw your weight about?)

or do you drop out of the Pool momentarily and buy back in for 100bb (e.g. to avoid deep-stack situations)?

i mean, it's not really rat-holing, is it? Coz everyone leaves the table after every hand anyway.

I don't tend to leave and rejoin, but I have been known to. Generally, I just avoid marginal situations with deep stacks, and tend to find other deep stack players also avoid marginal spots with me. I feel that I get more respect for raises and 3bets when I'm sitting there with 300bb, I guess that's psychology, villain thinks I'm good, so I steal and resteal a shit ton vs >100bb'ers and avoid raising junk vs <50bb'ers. Because I find it easier to bully people with a big stack, I prefer to keep my money on the table. It's only if I'm feeling tilted or not on my A-game that I bank my winnings.

I think it depends a lot on you as a player. There are probably two main things to take into consideration:

    1. How confident you are playing deep

Obviously most pots will remain against 100bb or less villains, but there will be spots when you're put in cooler spots against other villains with 250-400bb. If you don't feel comfortable with these spots then don't play deep. For example, if you have queens and get 4bet, there is a risk that you'll take really -EV lines because the stack depth scares you and you'll unintentionally throw away a lot of equity, some of which you can regain by just having a 100bb stack instead.

    2. If you play differently with a lot of chips

It's very easy to think that you've got 400bb on the table so it doesn't matter if you lose a few pots, you're still making massive profit. Leaks like widening your ranges or attempting bluffs in spots you couldn't previously will have a big impact on your winrate but you'll never realise just how much of an impact because you'll still have so many chips left.

if I am short BR wise, and need the BI's then yes. If not I play deep, but I also play a different game vs deeper stacks, calling IP and such. I don't play AA for stacks postflop 200BB's deep after the flop.

This seems like an arbitrary rule designed to limit your losses that'll also limit your winnings

rathole unless you are very confident playing deep and can manipulate deepstack play to your advantage.
