Question SB v BB - Some Noob-Type Questions

OK, so I'm (re)reading spoonitnow's post on blind stealing:

    http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...-a-152792.html

What I wanna know is, can the same process be utilised when we are SB, and the table has folded round to us? I'm seeing this a fair bit right now at 6-Max 2NL. Eff. stacks 40BB+, btw.

If we're raising to 3BB as a steal, it seems that we need BB to have a Fold To Steal of more than 67% for this to be +EV. Ja oder Nein?

Do we need to make any adjustment to the above to account for being OOP if we get called? Or is that all just gravy?

    Cheers!

Currently I have a 58% steal from sb, about the same as button. 2.5bb has been working fine but obv table/ seat dependent.

It's 67% for break even before you consider your hand, but bear in mind that sometimes your cheeky steal actually hits a flop. Your hand has equity, so factor that in against villain's calling range to get a more accurate idea. If you're confident you can play against the BB close to optimally post flop, then you should be able to show a profit against some people who fold to steal <60%, but I tend to target those who are >60% (until they adjust, of course) to play it safe.

Yes, I play better poker when the house is quiet, I'm in the zone through the night. I think when I posted last night I was just going to bed, so that was an early night; Friday I won a $5 mtt, that kept me up until 7am!

Getting up at 3pm helps, and a cup of tea every hour...
