    Default Clifton Phifer Lee

    Back with the PHILLIES!!!!

Our starting 4 looks pretty outrageous for the next few years:

    Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, Hamels. Boom.

Not bad having a WS MVP from a few years ago as your 4th best pitcher.

Was not expecting THAT. Nice job, Phils.

Who knew Ruben Amaro was this good?

Very happy not to see him on the Yanks but not looking forward to the possibility of facing the phillies in the world series

I don't know you'll have to worry about it...the Sox still have lots of holes, dude. Sure, AGon and Crawford are in but VMart and Beltre are out so it terms of replacing the value those guys provided in 2010, you haven't gained much, if any. Any better luck on the injury front will be negated by the old/shitty guys like Ortiz, Drew or Salty falling apart.

The AL is really wide open at this pt though so who knows. The best team in the league might just be 91-93 wins.

As one of my friends said, if the Phillies don't win 120 games next year then the season is a complete failure.

Ortiz is far from shitty as a DH. JD Drew is relatively solid but we also have a deep outfield with Mike Cameron and prospects like Kalish and Nava. You make a good point about our catching situation. We were hoping to add Russell Martin but it looks like the yanks beat us to it. Also, I wouldn't put Vmart among the calibre of Agon, Crawford, or possibly Beltre. Vmart has a quickly approaching expiration date and can't catch all the time now. Also Beltre had a great year but I'm not sure he can repeat that. We will see.

Our biggest issue is whether Beckett and Lackey can pitch half as well as expected. Next would be our bullpen which we're desperately trying to fill in the offseason. Our other issue is health for players like Youk, Dusty, and Ellsbury.

Rich get richer. Damn. That said, what an impressive rotation they're going to have, it should be a lot of fun to watch.

Still waiting to see where Zack Greinke lands--whoever gets him is going to have a stud as long as he can keep it together mentally. New York might not be the best place for him.

That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.
