    Default AK against a lead - great flop

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 7 Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (9 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
    MP1 (t1340)
    MP2 (t1620)
    Hero (MP3) (t1740)
    CO (t1270)
    Button (t1470)
    SB (t1640)
    BB (t1500)
    UTG (t1500)
    UTG+1 (t1420)
    Hero's M: 58.00
    Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A, K
    1 fold, UTG+1 bets t60, 2 folds, Hero calls t60, 4 folds
    Flop: (t150) 5, 3, 4 (2 players)
    UTG+1 bets t100, Hero?

    I mix up raising / flatting pre with AK (player and position dependant) and as no reads (not played on stars for a while) I flatted.

    Now what tho with 2 overs, gutter and NFD?

    We have enough equity to raise and get it in. We are ahead vs all overpairs except AA. With reads I think flatting can be ok but in general I would make it 350ish and bet plenty of turns.

    Obviously villain has a range but we are even ahead vs KK
    Board: 5d 3d 4c

    Hand 0: 55.000% { AdKd }
    Hand 1: 45.000% { KK }

    Statistically right now you have the best hand. So I would re-raise the pot and force UTG+1 to define his hand. If you do this the majority of the time you will win the hand here simply because the odds are in your favor with your holdings and the board. In other words if you raise here 10 out of 10 times you will be ahead. If you flat call you run the risk of letting him buy a card on the cheap that will beat you. The blinds are so low that betting to get another card to improve is hand right now is a very sneaky play on his part. Loose players love trying to take down aggressive players by hitting big hands early. If he misses he has not lost very many chips and can still recover. Better to raise and find out now where you stand. Plus, it's early in the tournament and this is a great time to find out exactly how he plays and let the rest of the table see how you play.

    What exactly does this mean? We are raising because our hand is way ahead of whatever opp has (ie. we are raising for value). We already know where we stand, we're ahead! If we raise and opp shoves over, we are not folding.

    I've noticed this in your writing that you often to refer to betting "to see where we stand". This is a flawed concept.

    250/fire turns that aren't Ax,Kx or 2x

    Maybe I've got a leak - why aren't we firing when we make TP or the wheel?
