    Default SNG hand ranges

.... vague attempt at forum resuscitation ....

I've been working for a while messing around with SQL trying to get shoving and calling ranges from HEM for a while now. Since WIZ is only as good as the ranges you put in, I was wondering what ranges I should use as defaults.

I've started with HU situations and mucked around with SQL until I got what I wanted. I have data from a relatively small sample of recently played super turbos (around 3k of games). I have the average shoving range from the SB (raised > 30% effective stack), the exploitative calling range, the equilibrium shoving range and equilibrium calling range. It makes for some interesting reading.

I'll post some methodology and figures if people are interested, but it's sort of pointless if no one is going to read it.

Let's see how much interest there is, otherwise I'm happy to share information privately.

Definitely post it. Ever since Black Friday it seems that the forums (and not just these ones) have definitely suffered a hit in traffic so anything that might provoke a bit of interest is very welcome.

O, Mr Harry...why nobody like the Poker Forum no more?

what i was planning on doing was to build some villain range-models based on actual hands, to see if it would give me somewhere to start with that ol' "put your opponent on a goddamn range" thing.

out of curiosity, what is the HEM back-end?

It's postgreSQL, which is the same as PT3. You then use pgAdmin III to access the database structure, poke around, write SQL queries.

Geek of course, but I don't have the skills to program. I liken it to trying to hammer in a pin with sledge hammer - I get the job done, but it isn't pretty.

I'd definitely be interested in exploring this. I often find myself wondering how wide I should be shoving and also how tight I should be calling sometimes!! Would be good to learn a bit more about!!
