    Default HUD help

So i've never really used a hud much before and am just getting the feel for it. obviously the basic stats are coming in useful, VIP/PFR, but other info i understand where it comes from but i don't really know how i can use it much.

I customised the hud to show cbet % and fold to cbet % as these seem like the most useful stats for me at the moment.

Would be great if anyone could let me know how they run their hud and how many hands before they trust its info. If this has been discussed before feel free to just link me to the thread and this can be shut down.

Also, when i expand the stats for a given player there is an overwhelming amount of info, which is great, but its not very practical for me right now, would be great if i could reduce that to what i'll use most and build on it as i progress, I cant seem to adjust what displays in the expanded version though.. I'm using pokertracker 3 HUD.

I would move this to "Tools of Poker" but I think you'll find more valuable information here. I won't post my HUD because you already have basically all the info. I do. I use Holdem Manager so sorry I cannot help you with the popups.

Preflop, you'll definitely want ATS (attempt to steal), and you'll probably eventually want PF-3bet and fold-to-pf-3bet.

You can easily change the popups the same way you change the other values. Open the configuration screen, select the popup you want to modify in the "Group" tab, then click over to the "Stats" tab to modify the information available in that popup. If you want to add/remove entire popups from displaying when you click the HUD, click the [Player] group in the "Group" tab, and then on the right add/remove what popups show up in the "Popups" table.

This is actually a very good topic that I would hope some of the regs would hop in and make comments. Your HUD is a great source of information that can help you with decisions for every action you'll face. Not that they can tell you exactly what to do but they can give you the statistical information to aid in your decision making. Besides the very basic info such as vpip or prf you should look to use it for so much more. You can glance at it when you are suddenly played back on by a particular villain. You just hover over you HUD and the expanded results show up. You look up and see how often villain is 3-betting for example, or has he ever 4bet oop etc.

Really take the time to get to know your HUD. I use HEM and they have a great forum and other resources to help you out. I have been trying to make it a priority to get to know each of the tools I have in my tool box. Each one has been an investment or sorts that took away from my br and it's just not smart to have it but not know how to get the most out of it. I just recently realized that another one of my resources, Leak Buster has a members area that has numerous videos etc designed to assist in learning how to maximize the benefits you can take from having it.

It would be great if the tools of poker had more contributors in it. There are so many great things available to help us in our journey. I know I have Holdem Manager, Leak Buster, Ace Poker Drills, Table Ninja and others such as PokerStove and would really like to be able to pick up tips and tricks others have learned about them while using them.

have been trialling HEM the last few sessions, can honestly say its a fairly long way ahead of PT3.

It seems like its a lot more customizable, or at least it easier to customize. Also loving the amount of detail i'm getting in the 'active players details' window. I like how it does the player analysis and lists relevent information, so I dont have to search through the stats to find it, its just there in my face saying "this stat, unusually high" or "this stat, a bit low". And i didnt have to do anything for it to highlight the fishy's green.

am intrigued re table-scanner. Seems to be scanning the pokerstars client but no tables show up in HEM :/

I'd suggest not getting table-scanner. I bought it and it's been nothing but a pain and the only reason I wanted it was to see how many tables people were playing. FullTilt now has that feature and I've found the program useless now.

Scott you'd be a lot better off getting Leak Buster first. LB is a very good tool and will really pay for it's self quickly. Table scanner may be beneficial for higher stakes but I'm with kmind for now!

I've gotten by completely fine without leak buster or table scanner and would not waste money on things that you can improve on by yourself
