Default Bankroll building and Bonus whoring advice 25/50nl

    Hey everyone,

    Just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm a low limit NL player from Belgium looking to build up a bankroll. Sitting on about 600$ at the moment built up from 100$. Playing mostly 25nl with some 50nl depending on the softness of the games.

One of the main things I was looking for was any advice anyone could give on bankroll building?

Ive done quite a bit of reading up on it and have seen the importance of playing within your bankroll, not getting carried away with bonus chasing, not being afraid to move down again. Any other top tips I should be following?

I was also wondering if anyone had a good list of bonuses that are realistically clearable for someone with my bankroll? (playing about 5-6 hours a day). I have seen countless websites recommending different bonuses but have no idea which sites advice I should be trusting.

ps Im not entirely sure if this was the appropriate place to post all this but please feel free to tell me to move it, should it not be.

This is a good place for the post for sure. I'm out of touch with any bonuses and all that kind of stuff but I'd like to reiterate the importance of bankroll management which it looks like you have kind of ignored until just now. I'm glad you found the resources necessary but it's a lot easier said than done to play within your roll.

Welcome to FTR! I hope you continue to post.

P.S. I deleted your other thread about this so we can just talk about it in one.

Thank you for your reply and also for your honesty. I've read the link you posted about bankroll management (and also bookmarked it) and will be looking to improve it as an element of my game!

what sites have you already played at?
the obvious once you have $600 are stars and ftp - then pm alexos or someone for ongame info. Tonyb used to be a well of info on this, is he still around?

If you're looking to bonus whore, kickbacks are probably the best for the short-term, since the bonuses you get from it are usually greater than rakeback. What you do is sign up with the kickback site as an affiliate, play enough hands or earn enough vip points to clear the kickback bonus. The kickback site would then award you points so that you can purchase gift certificates for cash on stars or whatever site that the kickback provider has gift certificates for.

You should be able to clear some bonuses at a decent rate at 25NL. Just make sure you don't sign up for kickback w/ sites like ftp where you're going to want rakeback for the long run. Pokersavvy has a few sites that you can get kickback AND rakeback from, but they aren't the fastest bonuses that you can clear iirc.

You're going to want to set up a moneybookers account too since pokersavvy, one of the kickback providers, pays out into moneybookers accounts rather than gift certificates to sites. And having a moneybookers account with US currency would help you move money anyways and help you help you not get owned as much by currency exchange.

The link I have above is a pretty good source of info. I'm pretty much following the info on this site myself.

After you finish all the kickbacks, you can probably switch to sites that give good rakeback/bonuses.

As for bankroll management, you probably shouldn't be playing 50NL with a $600 roll.

@ Daven : Ive got accounts at both Full Tilit and Pokerstars, not my greatest decision ever but I made them both before I really had any knowledge of kickbacks, rakeback and bonuses. Im not entirely sure how Id go about Pming anyone, Im fairly new to the site but thanks for the advice!

@ColdDecked : Thank you so much for this information!! Ive read through the webiste link you gave me and read a lot more about it on a variety of websites now and its true that kickbacks are by far my best option at this point!! Im going to follow your lead and give them a go! Also Ive rerealised that 50nl is a far bit outside of my bankroll and will be sticking to smaller games until my roll is more substantial.

By far the best response Ive had on any forum, thank you for your advice and help!
