compressing files wtf

    Default compressing files wtf

    I am trying to email a bunch of photos to someone and apparently I don't know how to compress files. I tried just sending to a compressed folder, but it didn't change the size of my files. I tried using WinRAR but I still can't get the files smaller.

    So in short I am retarded. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I should be able to send all my photos in one email this way, shouldn't I? Thanks

    Most image formats like jpeg, png and gif are already compressed, zipping/raring them won't help. Raw bitmaps (bmp) and other uncompressed formats are the only ones benefiting from compressing.

    It helps for file transfer depending on protocol and file system for reasons that I don't understand. But it can be better to put lots of small files in one container.

    If the file's too big to e-mail just use Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire instead
