Default Noob Fish Getting AA: Betting line review

Ok, I got AA ... time to celebrate ... if I knew what to do with it.

Anyway, I got great responses from my first thread (thanks everyone) so I am back.

MP is short stack. Basically he does not know how to play. Goes All-In with anything, including 83o when flop is QQK. So I don't worry about him, if he gets lucky ... that's poker.

UTG stats are 28/4. I do not think that he is positionally aware. When he limped, I think range would be: 22-99, Any suited connectors, Ax "semi-suited" or suited. Make sense?

Flop: Usually, I bet 75% of pot after flop but this time I bet about 50% to encourage them to bet (does this make sense?)

Turn: I bet less than half pot to get value. Am I shooting myself in the foot by giving them the odds to call? Should I bet higher?

Or should I always bet a similar % of pot all the time so "thinking players" cannot get info from my bet sizing.

Anyway, villain shove on the River. Hero???

First, AA doesn't play well with multiple partners...it doesn't like threesomes. So open bigger like $0.35 or so to try to get heads up.

2nd, I've noticed that people at these limits love to slowplay sets, trips and other big hands. His PF range that you gave him has all of these in it.

Third, the check, check, shove line is screaming that he's got a big hand or trying to bluff you out.
My thinking is that he's been sitting on trips from the flop or completed his shitty flush. I'd fold.

Don't do this, and don't even think this way.

    Thanks for the replies.

Spoonitnow: You are so correct. This is so obvious. Lesson learned. Thank you.

!luck: Great link! I had not seen it yet. There is so much info on FTP. I have now done the work. Thanks.

Shotglass: Agree, I often see people slow play big hands and I have learned to respect big bets.

What is interesting is that I am actually trying to put people on ranges but like any new skill, it takes time to develop. My post list the range I thought he had while I played the hand ... but I was wrong.

alot of poker is a duel between made hands and draws. the draws typically want to see as many cards as possible for as cheap as possible while the made hands want to charge them for the privilege. big pairs are especially vulnerable and usually should be played fast.

bet more on the flop, people will peel with all sorts of PP's/hearts on this dry board....raise more on the turn you are basically giving him good enough odds straight up to chase his flush.

    ^^^ +1

I forgot to mention that in my first reply. If you wanna shut out the FD then bet about PSB on the flop and turn. If he is on a draw, at least he won't be doing it for good odds.
