    Default Best Hand History Tool?

After spitting the dummy and closing my pokerstars account to try elsewhere, I have my complete 330k hand histories winging their bad beaty way to me. What should I use to make sense of these when they arrive. The thing I became most paranoid about was my win % when ahead all in pre flop. Do these tools have the facility to find out such a thing or will it be a case of 'AA win % = x%'
I'd love to have the figures to tell me exactly how paranoid I have been and I am not in fact a cursed player as I feel like at the moment.

Thanks for any replies in advance!

Holdem manager will do everything you need. Unfortunately, with Pokerstars, your not going to like what you see when you start looking at stats like that judging by your other posts

Your going to find out that everything was up and up and your brain fooled you into thinking things weren't.

if all is fine then i will just have to get on with it i suppose i just hate it that whether i win or how much i win is influenced by so much luck. i'm sure the % i win with a pair vs higher cards and vice versa is as expected its just how the cards fall when all in i just cant get to grips with. eg i catch overcard on flop only to get bust with two seemingly hand picked remaining cards.
i play heads up 4 man tourns and i suppose this format is going to dish out allsorts with me having to play a high % of hands etc but i swear (i can hear sighing already) if u had endured the mathmatically stupid things i have over the last few week in particular your faith would be tested too and the last month + has actually seen me win more money than ever before too if that makes any sense at all. i'm just thinking jesus i could have been rolling in it had i been given a fair crack of the whip.
i've played so many hands and yet struggle to accept that such low % things can happen such a high % of the time.
can this program filter out small pots and concentrate on large ones or all ins in particular?

thanks for ur help and for listening to the rants of a disillusioned man

    I agree.
I try to make about 25% - 40% of the time that I'm involved with poker strictly learning and studying (probably closer to 25%). It's true that if you don't play you won't improve, but try to take a look at how much time you've spent as a student of the game vs time spent playing. I'd wager that you'll discover that you might need to spend more time on one and less on the other.

am not sure where i've given the impression im a huge student of the histories rather than playing? i've just asked for the hand histories to prove to me i was being stupid thinking more bad beats happen there than should and to see what flaws i have playing certain hands. eg i think i dont muck j10 enough and can play 10s and Jacks poorly sometimes. i wanted to see if this was true. i've no intention of taking time out to comb thru the 300k hands and cry about my beats.
as for the % of time u spend studying vs playing how can u put a figure on that? and what are we talking, reading books or looking at hand histories or what? i would think the only studying i do these days is go over hands in my head and whether i played it right. i havent read a book in a while although i keep meaning to go back over the 'classics' i've read before.
    cheers for ur reply btw

I hope that you didn't get offended by my response, I certainly meant none. Basically the number is a best guess of how much time I spend studying HH of the tough or bad decisions that I made during a session, plus any time spent re-reading the “classics”, or ather activities to improve my knowledge (i.e. FTR.com) This is what it sounds like you intend: discover what you can improve upon your game. The OP was a bit misleading because of the references to paranoia and such.
Quantifying the amount of time spent in each is fairly simple. If I play for X number of hours per week and study the game theory or HH or otherwise trying to improve my knowledge of the game for Y number of hours then the percentage is Y/(X+Y)*100. I’d imagine with 300k hands under your belt, you’ve already made a valiant effort at learning the game.

no sorry mate didnt take offence, was just wondering what i must have said for both replies to say the same thing really.
think im more relaxed about the whole thing now anyway regarding first post! it was just such a ridiculous run of cards that it messed with my head basically. i'm actually playing as well as i ever have i think and i suppose the more often ur money is in the middle ahead the more beats ur gonna take. still winds me up tho!
so what books we talking about here then the harringtons obv, super systems then what? ive read a few more on top of those but not many. and like i said previous am overdue re reading and prob checking out some new stuff. i had phil gordons little green book on audio which was good too.

Yeah, HOH and pretty much anything by Sklansky, especially his "Theory and Practice", "The theory of poker" and "small stakes hold'em". You can find several books here.
I really liked 'Supersystem' for it's look into the midset of not winning but crushing the competition, but it was WAY light on theory (math on so on).
